Mitsubishi RVR Vehicle to be Outfitted with Osram LED Fog Light Sources

July 21, 2010... Osram of Germany, has introduced Joule JFLCF2 LED modules to provide an alternative option to the standard halogen-based technology for automotive fog lights. Osram’s Automotive Lighting division and the LED specialist Osram Opto Semiconductors have jointly developed the Joule JFL2 LED module. According to Osram, Mitsubishi Motors recently agreed to offer the Osram Joule JFLCF2 LED module in the 2011 Mitsubishi RVR compact crossover vehicle. This marks first time that Joule was adopted in Japan market. Referred to as the ASX in Europe and sold as the Outlander Sport in North America, Mitsubishi’s RVR is an alternative vehicle to large SUVs offering superior fuel economy and low emissions. Osram claims its LED lighting helps Mitsubishi achieve efficiency goals while allowing the set maker, Aoki Seisakusho Co., Ltd, design flexibility to match the vehicle’s compact nature.
