Seoul Semiconductor Launches New LED Products at Lightfair

Las Vegas--Seoul Semiconductor, a leading global LED manufacturer that recently achieved a noteworthy industry milestone with the development of a new lamp capable of 150 lm/w, is launching several innovative products at Lightfair International, the largest lighting fair in North America, taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center this week.

Company representatives will be at Booth 1539 in the Las Vegas Convention Center May 12-15 to launch Acriche A6 (1 W) and A7 (4 W) series products, LEDs that are much smaller than existing Acriche lamps and can be used in a variety of general lighting fixtures, including streetlights. For example, the A7, at 8x8 mm, offers space-saving versatility over current 18x12 mm Acriche products.

Acriche is the first mass production AC-driven LED and because it does not require a converter it is less expensive to manufacture end-products and lasts longer than other LED light sources whose lifetime may be limited by a power converter (see Table 1 for details).

Also launching at Lightfair are three next-generation products in Acriche’s Z-Power LED series:

Z5, which offers a high color rending index (CRI 90) and compact ceramic design;
Z6, which delivers full color options for general lighting applications as well as decorative and architectural lighting uses;
Z7, a high-efficiency LED product containing 4 individually addressable high power die (see Table 2 for details).

Lightfair International, one of the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show, alternates each year between New York and Las Vegas. This year’s event, featuring more than 475 exhibitors, is expected to attract 19,000 attendees. At last year’s show in New York, Seoul Semiconductor rolled out new ultra-small LED products and received high praise.

Seoul Semiconductor has pioneered the development and manufacturing of next-generation LED light sources since 1992. Lighting products made from Acriche LEDS are more efficient than halogen lamps, incandescent light bulbs, fluorescent lamps and most DC LED products, and are the world’s first light source that can be driven by a common alternating current power source without the need of an AC-DC converter. Mass production of a 100 lm/w Acriche lamp began during the first quarter of this year.
